이 글은 한국에 거주하는 한 캔자스시티 팬이 이승엽을 영입하는 것에 대한 의견을 올린 것에서부터
시작되었습니다. 날림으로 해석하여서 중간중간 어색한 부분도 많지만 이해해 주세요~
들어가기 전에.. 캔자스 시티 구단에 대한 약간의 설명을 하자면..캔자스시티는 AL중부지구 최하위에 랭크되어 있는 팀으로, 타격은 ML구단에서 평균정도, 투수력은 바닥으로 평가받는 팀입니다. DeJesus 라는 수준급의 리드오프를 가지고 있고, 다른 빅마켓의 구단만큼 뛰어난 중심타자는 아니지만, Teahen이라는 좋은 3루수도 가지고 있는 구단입니다. 뭐 대충 여기까지~

As a Royals fan on the other side of the world (Korea), I get a good view of the Japanese and Korean Professional Baseball Leagues. The depth is nothing like the MLB but there's still a good amount of players. one being left-handed hitting Lee Seung-yeop. Just hit his 400th career homerun in asia before turning 30. He also has the record for most homeruns in a season, 56. A Korean born player who currently plays for the Yomiuri Giants in Japan. I'm not going to go into all this stats and history. He makes 210M Yen (~$1.8M) in Japan and is a free agent at the end of this year. He's a great fit for the Royals. He can play a corner outfield or a left-handed glove first base. He's shown consistent power and he's clutch. If you watched the World Baseball Classic, he was the one with multiple key at bats. Plus he led the Classic with the most homeruns. Overall he's got a great eye with a sweet swing.
I don't think there would be a problem for him to face major league, its just does a team want to go overseas and pay the money for him. BUT I SAY YES! Sometimes you have to take risks, but this isn't even a risk. He's got the tools to play in the majors. Also the country loves him here in Korea, so Royals merchandise would probably quadruple in sales. If I see the Yankees sign him as a pinch hitter or for some crazy amount of money, then I will PO'd!

내가 봤을 & #46468; 그가 메이저리거가 되는데에는 아무런 문제가 없어보여. 다만 문제라면 팀이 바다를 건너가 그에게 돈을 지급할거냐는 것이겠지. 하지만.. 내가봤을 땐 충분히 그럴 가치가 있어. 가끔은 위험을 감수해야 한다구. 게다가 이건 위험이라고 할만한 일도 아니지. 그는 메이저에서 뛸 재능을 가져서. 그리고 여기 한국 사람들은 그를 매우 좋아하기 때문에 로얄스의 마케팅 수익은 몇배는 증가할거야. 만약 양키즈가 그에게 어마어마한 돈을 지급하고 대타로 영입(지명타자가 아니라 대타)한다면 ..PO'd 할거야.(이부분 해석 불가)

wont happen anyone that comes over will come over to a major market team that gets broadcast over seas, such as yankees redsox and company. Plus not knowing anything about the guy i dont think he would fit into our plans due to you saying he is almost 30 and the fact that we are loaded in our minors with outfield prospects along with a couple that could move to first base. I just dont see him being a great fit for us even without seeing him play

Uh hello? I live in that market. They show all teams with Korean players and other significant ones. They even show Seo Jae-eung (Jae Seo) with the crappy D-Rays. Plus I don't care how much Gordon, Butler, etc... do in the minors, when they get to the majors they need to have some support. Some kind of consistency. I think that's quite clear to Dayton Moore in trading for Odalis Perez. I'm not necessarily talking about "veteran leadership", that's a copout term for signing players who's original team gave up on them because they are out of their prime. I'm talking about players who will give you 100 rbi's a year or give you a .500 chance of winning when they pitch. When you have players like that then the younger players can thrive. But if we continue to put young players on the field with no protection then they will continue to fail.

The Yomiuri Giants recently offered him ~2.9M a year for 3 years. Also the Yankees have shown interest. Reggie Sanders makes 5M and rides the pine. He's only played 76 games this year. Give me a break.
When Lee Seung-yeop hits .300 with 100+ RBI's with the Yankees next year, some of you will say, "Oh he's a great player why didn't we sign him?"

no one is disputing that hes good but he would just clog a spot next year that doesnt need clogged. Our outfield is set for next year and the future. Our first basemen spot is fine and could get crowded if teahan or gordon moves. And dh will be filled by whoever doesnt ahve a position. We dont need to spend millions on players right now

How do you figure our "outfield is set for next year"? Except for DDJ, I couldn't with certainty predict who our opening day CF and RF will be. Gathright will probably be in center but I think RF is a mystery right now.

I know there's a slim chance they will sign him, but I think I'm also challenging the idea of who will be the future of the Royals. Everybody saying that Gordon, Butler, Maier ie prospects.... will be starters together in the next year or two has it all wrong. I don't care how mature Gordon is or how far Butler can hit it, if they don't have some kind of steady protection who can drive in runs and produce consistently then their development into a winning team is near impossible. Having a legitimate all-star and an above average hitter in the 3/4/5 slot and would do wonders for all the young players. Also the pitching staff needs an ace and a 2 or 3 slot pitcher with experience. Then the young pitchers can thrive. We will see what signing power Moore has in the next couple of years and how he handles the farm.
나도 캔자스가 이승엽과 계약할 확률이 낮은것은 알고 있지만 누가 캔자스의 미래가 될지에 대한 의견을 내고 있는거라구. 모두가 고든 버틀러 마이어가 유력하다고하지. 내년이나 2년 후 동반 선발 출전을 하면서. 하지만 틀렸어. 나는 고든이 얼마나 발전했는지, 버틀러가 얼마나 멀리 칠 수 있는지 신경쓰지 않아. 만약 이런 신인들을 보호해줄 꾸준히 타점을 올리는 사람이 없다면 캔자스시티는 이기는 팀으로 변화하지 못할거야. 적당한 올스타와 평균 이상 치는 3 4 5번이 있다면 신인들의 성장에도 큰 도움이 될거야. 그리고 투수진에서도 경험있는 에이스와 2번과 3번 선발투수가 필요하지. 그러면 젊은 투수들도 잘할 수 있을거고. 무어가 얼마나 계약을 잘하고 팜을 잘 운영하는지 한번 지켜보자고.
